History

Tiprow Controls was established in 1971 by N.B.Tipping and D.J.Harrow in Boksburg. The company grew quickly, changing premises three times in the early years, each time increasing the capacity to accommodate an increase in orders. The company has therefore been manufacturing electrical control panels for the mining and heavy industrial sectors for over 45 years.

The business was taken over by Vic Warner in 1984, and he moved it to its current site in Benoni.

Vic was wholly responsible for building the company’s reputation as a stable and reliable provider of quality control panels.

In 2009, Industrial Automation and Control in the UK bought Tiprow from Vic Warner, and resolved to keep and enhance the company values. Vic assisted in the transition, but sadly passed away after only a year of retirement. The company is determined to continue his legacy and will ensure that the company operates with integrity and honesty, always putting the customer first.

Vic’s wife Lynette is still a director of the company and helps make sure that the business is secure and healthy. The company is now managed by Jaco de Waal, and the finances are controlled by Grace Mokalapa. Three of the directors of IAC in Wales make up the rest of the 6 man board of directors.
